Slovak First Football League
MŠK Žilina is a Slovak football club based in the town of Žilina, that currently plays is the Slovak Superliga. Since the league inception in 1993, the club has won 7 titles and comes second in All-time table that makes them one of the most successful teams in the competition. The club and their supporters alike are nicknamed Šošoni (after the Shoshone Native American tribe) and play their home games in the Štadión pod Dubňom. In the 2016–17 season, Žilina won the Slovak League.
Slovak First Football League
FC Košice is a Slovak association football club based in Košice, that currently plays in the Slovak First Football League, the highest tier of Slovak football. FC Košice was founded in 2018. They merged into a new club with FK Košice-Barca. From a historical and traditional point of view, the club follows the first football club from Košice, Kassai Athletikai Club from 1903, later known as FC VSS Košice, but from a legal point of view it is a new club with a clean slate.
The Slovak First Football League, known as the Niké liga for sponsorship reasons, is the highest level of the Slovak football league system. It was formed in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The record for most titles is thirteen, held by Slovan Bratislava, who are the current title holders.
