Stade Marocain is a Moroccan sports club based in the city of Rabat, The club founded in 1919 under the name Setad, a French word meaning the stadium by the French centenarians during the era of the French protectorate over Morocco, the club was one of the strongest teams in Morocco before independence, where it won the local championship in 1928, 1931, 1944 and 1964. The club is currently best known for their football branch, but also the tennis branch, the athletics branch, as well as the Pétanque (a boules type sport) branch, which was founded in 1912

Botola 2 (formerly known before as the Groupement National de Football 2), is the second division of the Moroccan football league, behind the Botola, the highest football league in Morocco. It features 19 teams across the country that compete for the top two positions in the competition which at the end of the season allows them promotion to the Botola. Each season as well, the 3 bottom teams are all relegated to the third-level, Division Nationale.
