Monza appoint former Atalanta and Roma boss Juric for return to Serie A

Monza announced Monday the appointment of Ivan Juric as coach ahead of their return to the Italian top flight.

[p][b]"[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/monza/4YSMlwj7/"]AC Monza[/a] announce that, effective from 1st July 2026, Ivan Juric will become the new head coach of the Biancorossi first team,"[/b] the Lombardy-based outfit said in a statement.[/p][p]Juric, under contract until 2028, will take over the reins from Italian Paolo Bianco, who, despite securing promotion for Monza to Serie A via the play-offs, was not retained by the club.[/p][p]The 50-year-old Croatian arrives at the U-Power Stadium off the back of two disappointing spells in Serie A.[/p][embed guid="e58c6ac0-3812-4eda-886b-335b2d4cf38c" url="https://x.com/ACMonza/status/2071535759266369999" social-type="twitter" /][p]First at [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/as-roma/zVqqL0ma/"]Roma[/a], where he lasted less than two months between September and November 2024, and then at [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/atalanta/8C9JjMXu/"]Atalanta[/a], where he took over from his mentor Gian Piero Gasperini last summer before being sacked in November with a record of just 13 points from 11 matches.[/p][p]Between these two stints in Italy, he managed [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/southampton/WdKOwxDM/"]Southampton[/a] from December 2024 to April 2025, but was unable to save them from Premier League relegation.[/p][p]Monza - owned by an American investor and the Berlusconi family, who became minority shareholders at the start of the year - will be playing in the Italian top flight for just the fourth time in their history.[/p][p][b]The off-season in Italy this year has produced its typical flurry of coaching changes.[/b][/p][p]Almost half of the 20 Serie A clubs have changed or are set to change their coach, including [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/ac-milan/8Sa8HInO/"]AC Milan[/a], who appointed Ruben Amorim to replace Massimiliano Allegri, who himself is set to take over at [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/napoli/69Dxbc61/"]Napoli[/a] following the departure of Antonio Conte.[/p]
