Men's Doubles top seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten have reached the third round at Wimbledon 2026, but only after being pushed all the way by Mac Kiger and Patrik Trhac in round two, emerging 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 winners.

[p]The world number one pair needed time to break down their opponents [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/atmane-terence/6mkEQ279/"]Terence Atmane[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sanchez-luca/b3DobAdF/"]Luca Sanchez[/a] in their opening round match, but that was plain sailing compared with their meeting with the unseeded American duo.[/p][p]Things would have been simpler had they taken break point in game four or one of three set points they forced in game 12 of the first set, but a bright start to the tiebreak - going 4-1 before eventually closing out a 7-5 win - saw [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/heliovaara-harri/OYcuApkE/"]Heliovaara[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/patten-henry/tzbx2iwG/"]Patten[/a] take it, 7-6.[/p][p]Neither pair came close to losing serve in the second set until game 11 when the Finnish-British duo had to chances to break, but failing to capitalise meant for another tiebreak, and this time it was the first seeds who were shakier, as a faultless Kiger and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/trhac-patrik/fP6WABo4/"]Trhac[/a] levelled the match up with a 7-3 tiebreak win.[/p][embed guid="b686181a-f440-41f9-8d8f-0d23ec51f24a" url="https://x.com/the_LTA/status/2073020525325037857" social-type="twitter" /][p]In the final set, the two sets of players were so strong on serve that neither conceded more than 30 points in any game when serving. A third tiebreak looked inevitable from very early on, and a loss of serve from Heliovaara and Patten saw them fall 5-2 down early on and under real pressure.[/p][p]But the 2024 champions hit back in style - from 7-4 down, they won six points in a row to take the 10-point tiebreak 10-7, staving off what looked to be a major upset to win [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/tennis/heliovaara-h-OYcuApkE/patten-h-tzbx2iwG/?mid=jmcNIFrC"]the match[/a].[/p][p]Heliovaara and Patten will hope for an easier match in the third round, up against the Czech pair of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/pavlasek-adam/EmouDEJm/"]Adam Pavlasek[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rikl-patrik/r5IEmPRO/"]Patrik Rikl[/a].[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/tennis/atp-doubles/wimbledon/"]Follow all the action from Wimbledon 2026 on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
