Florentino Perez confirms Jose Mourinho as Real Madrid manager if he wins elections

Jose Mourinho will return to Real Madrid should current president Florentino Perez secure reelection in next Sunday's vote for the club presidency.

[p]In a brief video shared on the official Instagram account of Perez's campaign, Mourinho appears wearing a [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/real-madrid/W8mj7MDD/"]Real Madrid[/a] shirt and simply says: "Yes."[/p][p]The announcement was released at almost the same time as Perez's electoral rival, Enrique Riquelme, was preparing to unveil a major signing on a television programme.[/p][embed guid="a86ee8c8-b947-4557-9635-e47b38df828b" url="https://x.com/Florentino2026_/status/2062263406686568460" social-type="twitter" /][p]The video starts with the caption: "While they talk and talk and talk on TV", before cutting to Mourinho, dressed in white, delivering his response.[/p][p]Should Perez win the election, Mourinho would return to the club 13 years after his departure in 2013.[/p][p]Mourinho first joined Real Madrid in 2010, spending three seasons at the club.[/p][p]During his tenure, he won one LaLiga title, a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup.[/p][p]Appointing the divisive Mourinho would be a gamble on the part of president Perez after Los Blancos finished without a major trophy for a second consecutive season.[/p]
