New York Giants All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requested a trade from the team and will not report to the team's offseason workout program on Tuesday.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lawrence-dexter/4l4nSnwm/"]Lawrence[/a], 28, is coming off the worst season of his career after putting up lows across the board with 31 tackles, eight quarterback hits, and 0.5 sacks through all 17 games last year. [/p][p]He has 341 tackles and 30.5 career sacks through 109 career games. Lawrence has played at least 16 games in six of his seven years in the NFL, missing just seven games in total.[/p][embed guid="a5e6d490-76f5-4d5c-8da7-fcac7db029d8" url="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2041193382022619174?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][p]The two-time All-Pro defensive tackle has two years left on his contract. He's set to make $18.5 million in base salary ($20 million total) this upcoming season and $17 million total next year before becoming an unrestricted free agent. [/p][p]The former 17th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft has established himself as one of the most dominant interior defensive linemen in the league and will make an immediate impact for any team that steps up and trades for him. [/p][p]"How important is he? Really important," said new head coach John Harbaugh back in February. "He's super, super important. He's a cornerstone football player - not really a cornerstone, more like the middle stone. He's right in the middle. He's a very big stone, and he's a very active, athletic one."[/p][p]The Giants have the No. 5 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, with seven picks in total (5th, 37th, 105th, 145th, 186th, 192nd, 193rd).[/p]
