Swedish Barcelona star Roony Bardghji applied a reference from the Bible to respond to the fact that he was surprisingly left out of Graham Potter's 26 man Swedish squad for the World Cup.

[p]After the squad selection, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bardagji-roony/YgzDTaqN/"]Bardghji[/a] posted the following message on social media.[/p][p]"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me," writes Roony Bardghji on Instagram, along with an emoji pointing to the sky. [/p][p]The quote is taken from the Bible.[/p][p]In connection with Graham Potter announcing his squad for the World Cup, the Swedish national team coach explained the reasoning behind his decisions: [/p][embed guid="acbe54f5-d4eb-4010-9c5c-b1bca008a544" url="https://x.com/eurofootcom/status/2054223659787497565" social-type="twitter" /][p]"It has been incredibly tough decisions to make. Picking a squad for the World Cup is not something I took lightly. As a person and as a father, I know how tough it is to leave players out", said the former Chelsea coach and continued:  [/p][p]"My decisions are based on a few things. I don't have all the answers. There are always different ways of looking at things."[/p][p]Potter states that competition is one of the reasons.[/p][p]"Based on a competitive reason, there are others that are ahead, right now. It is also about the fact that we are 26 players who will travel, about how to manage time on the road with each other, how we act, and different profiles based on age and experience. I love both of those guys (Roony Bardghji and Hugo Larsson, who was also left out). They have super exciting careers ahead of them. I could be wrong, but I have to make a decision."[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/sweden/OQyqbHWB/"]Sweden[/a]'s national team gathers on 27 May. In the group stage, Sweden will face [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/tunisia/QqZVYk95/"]Tunisia[/a], the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/netherlands/WYintcWb/"]Netherlands[/a], and Japan.[/p]
