Injury crisis prompts FC Midtjylland to sign former Brondby captain Maxso

This presents challenges as we look ahead to a packed fixture list," says Sporting Director Kristian Bach Bak.[/p][p][b]"It is rare for us as a club to make this kind of deal, but we are pleased to sign a quality player like Maxso. He will step in from day one and be an active part of the dressing room. He knows what it takes, and given his experience, we expect him to make a difference."[/b][/p][p]The 32-year-old Maxso most recently played for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/ittihad-kalba/CxR74upk/"]Ittihad Kalba[/a] in the United Arab Emirates where his contract expired this summer. It is a somewhat unusual time with several injuries at the club, but we found ourselves in a situation where both parties saw a good opportunity to make this happen."[/p][p]Maxso at Brondby anchored the defense with great success from 2019 to 2022 where Brondby won the Danish title in 2021.[/p][p]At the beginning of 2023, he moved to the MLS club [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/colorado-rapids/jmBZNRn8/"]Colorado Rapids[/a].[/p][p]Maxso had his breakthrough at [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/nordsjaelland/2wZHnGDH/"]FC Nordsjaelland[/a] and subsequently moved to the Turkish club Osmanlıspor in 2017. He then had stints at FC Zürich and Bayer Uerdingen before heading to Brondby. Maxso has made two appearances for the Danish senior national team.[/p]
