Former Lens and Southampton manager Will Still is making his return to France to take charge of Auxerre, with the club announcing the appointment and a contract running until 2028. He succeeds Christophe Pelissier, who was dismissed at the end of the season despite narrowly keeping the team in Ligue 1.

[p]Still, who has never played professionally, chose to pursue a coaching career very early on. He began in Belgium at Lierse and Beershot, then moved to France with Reims, where he initially served as assistant to Spaniard Oscar Garcia (2021) before succeeding him as head coach in October 2022, a position he held until 2024.[/p][p]He then joined Lens on a three-year contract, but left the club from Artois at the end of the first year (2024-2025) to be with his ill partner in England.[/p][p]He signed with Southampton at the start of last season but was dismissed as early as November 2 after the 13th round of the Championship.[/p]
