Reece James is set to play an instrumental role if England are to win their second World Cup this summer.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/james-reece/nLBC7ERa/"]James[/a] has cemented his place as one of the Three Lions' best right-backs in recent years, with only injuries preventing him from arguably being one of the world's greatest. [/p][p]The 26-year-old rarely ends a campaign with a clean bill of health, but 2025/26 was the first time in four seasons that [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/chelsea/4fGZN2oK/"]Chelsea[/a]'s superstar defender surpassed 30 appearances for his club. [/p][p]The Englishman featured 29 times in the Premier League and recorded seven goal involvements, while only missing six league fixtures through injury. [/p][p]For the first time in years, James is in an excellent spot physically and ahead of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/england/j9N9ZNFA/"]England[/a]'s tournament opener [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/croatia-K8aznggo/england-j9N9ZNFA/?mid=b5qGuKMs"]against Croatia on June 17th[/a], the Blues star feels he could play three 90-minute games in a week.[/p][embed guid="15888702-42e1-4441-af4f-edd6e3a45000" url="https://x.com/ChelseaFC/status/2065096504939827410" social-type="twitter" /][p]"I can play three 90s a week. I came back at the end of last season, I played in the last few games, and I’m feeling good," James said. [/p][p]"I think timing is everything, as you said, I've missed a few major tournaments. I have tried to be ready and be as well prepared as possible for this one, and I'll give my country my all."[/p][p]Chelsea's No. 24 was also quick to praise England manager Thomas Tuchel, detailing the "amazing" time he had with the German during his brief spell at Stamford Bridge. [/p][p]"I had an amazing time with the manager together at Chelsea, and I am happy he is the boss. I’m glad to work with him. For sure, that’s why we’re here. We don’t come to take part, and as we speak, we're on the mountain, still climbing. There's still room to go, for sure.[/p][p]"It’s good the fans are in good spirits, but the tournament is yet to start, so we have a long way to go."[/p][infobox id="4ccc1b10-d68f-4c97-bcf4-5e613c17c2e3" /]
