The Ottawa Senators acquired forward Warren Foegele and a conditional 2026 third-round pick in a trade deal with the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

[p]In exchange, the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/los-angeles-kings/CIDo8i2o/"]Kings[/a] received a 2026 second-round pick and a conditional 2026 third-round pick. [/p][p]The 29-year-old left wing has seven goals and two assists through 49 games this season, following back-to-back years with at least 20 goals and 20 assists.[/p][embed guid="28961833-cb33-44d9-8164-20a56fa18afe" url="https://x.com/Senators/status/2029700998118412322?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][p]Foegele was selected in the third round of the 2014 Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2018-2019 season, posting two goals and one assist in two games. [/p][p]He would go on to put up 10-13-10 goals respectively in the next three years with the Canes before joining the Edmonton Oilers for three seasons (2021-2023). The Ontario native played in all 82 games his first year with the Oilers, ending his tenure there with what was a career high in both goals (20) and assists (21). [/p][p]A year later, Foegele joined the Kings and upped his career-highs once more with 24 goals and 22 assists. [/p][p]His number being down this year could coincide with almost averaging a full two minutes less of ice time per game, being placed on injured reserve, which forced him to miss the entire month of November.[/p][p]Now, he'll go from one Wild Card-contending team to another over in a different conference. [/p][p]The Kings are currently two teams out of the second Western Conference Wild Card slot as they sit with a 24-22-14 record. Meanwhile, the Senators (29-22-9) sit behind three teams for the second Eastern Conference Wild Card spot. [/p]
