Chelsea forward Estevao may not have enough time to recover for the World Cup after suffering a thigh injury in his side's defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League, which would be a major blow to Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/est-vao/tAzsqjSg/"]Estevao[/a] left the pitch after just 16 minutes, and according to coach Liam Rosenior, the player was in tears in the dressing room.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/chelsea-4fGZN2oK/manchester-utd-ppjDR086/?mid=42nywR4D"]The match[/a] against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/manchester-united/ppjDR086/"]United[/a] was Estevao’s fourth since his return from another muscle injury. Between February and March, he suffered a knock that kept him out of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/brazil/I9l9aqLq/"]Brazil[/a]’s squad for friendlies against France and Croatia.[/p][p]The Athletic reported that the player has sustained a grade four injury, which could jeopardise his World Cup hopes. He is one of the main players in the Brazil squad managed by Ancelotti.[/p][p]For Brazil, he has 11 caps and five goals, four of which have come in his last four matches.[/p][p]Ancelotti will announce his final squad on May 18th, with Brazil’s opening match scheduled for June 13th, against Morocco.
