Winnipeg Jets 3-2 [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/detroit-red-wings/dnJdmCF0/"]Detroit Red Wings[/a]
[p]After a disappointing loss, the Winnipeg Jets picked up their first win of the season behind 2 goals and 3 points from star winger Kyle Connor, with Stuart Skinner stopping 33 of the 35 shots he saw on the night to lead the Jets over the Red Wings, getting their first win of the year to take them to 1-0-1 on the season.[/p][embed guid="0fcda927-25d3-4ff2-a438-fc5a787aa9ca" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWiwaMWUzeA" social-type="youtube" /][p]For the second straight game, the Red Wings failed to capitalize on their shot tally, with Emmitt Finnie and Viktor Arvidsson getting their first of the season as Detroit start the year 0-2-0, with the pressure from their home crowd already building as the drama around the organization continues to swirl.[/p]
[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/new-york-rangers/O4zxeyWN/"]New York Rangers[/a] 4-2 [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/utah-mammoth/hnwxhtVp/"]Utah Mammoth[/a]
[p]The New York Rangers lost on opening night, but with three third period goals on Sunday against the Utah Mammoth, they sealed their third straight victory, pushing them to 3-1-0 through their first four games. In this matchup, it was four different goal scorers for the Rangers, with Vlad Gavrikov, J.T. Miller, Eeli Tolvanen and Gabriel Perreault all finding the net, with the latter three scoring in the third to hold off the talented Mammoth.[/p][embed guid="4496203a-6824-47b6-a9c4-2eb1de4c84fa" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NARwy-IPcjg" social-type="youtube" /][p]The Mammoth had a hard time beating Igor Shesterkin however, as the star goaltender made 28 saves on 30 shots, with only Andrew Peeke and Nick Schmaltz finding the net, with the latter ending the night -3. After the loss, Utah are now 2-1-0 on the season with a 1-1-0 mark away from home, and if they can find consistent goaltending, the team have shown enough offense to be a threat in the West this season.[/p]
[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/anaheim-ducks/4CM4ojpD/"]Anaheim Ducks[/a] 3-2 Florida Panthers
[p]The Anaheim Ducks entered 2026/27 on the back of a rough summer, but in their one game this year they looked impressive, and now, they've handed a genuine Stanley Cup contender in Florida a defeat on home ice. The star of the show for the Ducks in this one was Cutter Gauthier with his first two tallies of the season, while it was ultimately veteran Mikael Granlund that ended the game in overtime in thrilling fashion.[/p][embed guid="8f57cddf-e6de-4c78-873e-eff6fddb31e2" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y009BNDUais" social-type="youtube" /][p]While the Panthers were optimistic coming into the year, the team have dropped their last two games after an OT win on opening night, with the positives being the return of Brad Marchand and a solid 18 goal outing from Jacob Markstrom. With the game going to OT, the Panthers have points in all three of their games this season, and for the Ducks, this marks their 11th straight victory in a home opener, with the team showing very promising signs early in the year.[/p]
[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/seattle-kraken/MibYQ5nU/"]Seattle Kraken[/a] 6-1 [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/calgary-flames/EZekktRt/"]Calgary Flames[/a]
[p]The Seattle Kraken were highly overlooked coming into 2026/27, but after a domination of the Calgary Flames on opening night, the team are now 2-1-0 on the back of another dominant performance against the Flames. This time it was at home for the Kraken's home opener, and once again, Berkly Catton played a huge role (1G, 1A), with two goals to Mackie Samoskevich fueling the 6-1 victory.[/p][embed guid="8d50293d-c1c1-4990-bd33-518443692b44" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VudnfKjMAw" social-type="youtube" /][p]For Calgary, this marks three straight defeats, and after allowing six goals last Thursday, Dustin Wolf struggled again, allowing 6 goals on 27 shots faced. Neither team is a heavyweight, but early in the year, the Flames have struggled mightily all over the ice, and for the second time in a week, they were thoroughly embarrassed by their Pacific Division rivals.[/p]
Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 Vancouver Canucks
[p]The Vegas Golden Knights were one step from the Stanley Cup last season, and early in the year, they're ready to show they belong there again, and on Sunday, they had a hard fought victory over a key division rival. While they started slow, the Golden Knights rode three goals in the second period to the win over the Vancouver Canucks, with eight different players finding the scoresheet while Adin Hill stopped 17 of the 19 shots he saw on the night.[/p][embed guid="81ffa098-e8e5-4214-b3e4-572e8744391f" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6rmS2EYkms" social-type="youtube" /][p]As for Vancouver, their offense slowed down significantly after 17 goals in their first three games of the year, with goals to Paul Cotter and Jonathan Lekkerimaki the only offense they could muster on the night. Kevin Lankinen was great in net, stopping 25 of the 28 shots he faced, but ultimately, the class and experience of Vegas was what won out on the night.[/p][infobox id="4a10d479-52d8-41e0-aa1d-fb0ac5772099" /]
