The club states this on its website: "At Brondby IF, we want courage, intensity, and community to be visible in everything we do. We believe that Thomas is the right person to strengthen the qualities around our first team," says Brondby football director Julius Ohnesorge.[/p][p]"He combines strong professional football skills with clear leadership, high standards, and a sincere ability to bring people together around a common goal."[/p][p]Thomas Norgaard has previously been head coach at AB, Lyngby Boldklub, and B93, as well as assistant coach at Czech outfit Sparta Prague.[/p][p]As a teenager, he played youth football in Brondby and was captain of both the U17 and U19 teams in the club, without, however, breaking through to the first team.[/p][embed guid="5803c75b-d01d-48e3-85e4-026dd0d838d9" url="https://x.com/BrondbyIF/status/2064648769183031789" social-type="twitter" /][p]Therefore, he is now proud to be able to return (as a replacement for the sacked Steve Cooper).[/p][p]"I was a 15-year-old boy from Herlev who went to the academy in Brondby with all the dreams you have when you hope to one day stand at Brondby Stadium. It didn't work out as a player, so sometimes you have to find another way to your dreams," says Thomas Nørgaard:[/p][p]"I knew early on that I wanted to be a football coach, and for almost 25 years, I have worked purposefully to become skilled enough to be here today. Therefore, it is with both humility, pride, and great motivation that I look forward to the challenge that we must now undertake together."[/p][p]The new head coach has been granted a contract until the summer of 2029. He is joined by assistant coach Lasse Frolund and analyst Carl-Emil Lopdrup. [/p]
