FC Midtjylland lost another crucial step in the two-horse race for the Danish title with AGF when they were left to settle for a goalless draw in the away fixture against FC Nordsjaelland. This means that league leaders AGF now only need one win in their two remaining matches against Brondby and Viborg.

[p]AGF are in pole position to claim the Danish title after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/midtjylland/8GZDmdbB/"]FC Midtjylland[/a] on Sunday were left to settle [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/midtjylland-8GZDmdbB/nordsjaelland-2wZHnGDH/?mid=IaM5TfG6"]for a goalless draw in Farum[/a].[/p][p]Should AGF take all three points in the away fixture against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/brondby/67R5vKqt/"]Brondby[/a], which starts at 18.00 CET later on Sunday, they will claim the first Danish title in 40 years. [/p][p]FC Midtjylland were forced to win to keep up the pressure on AGF, but failed to break down a stubborn [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/nordsjaelland/2wZHnGDH/"]FC Nordsjaelland[/a] rearguard. [/p][p]The visitors were under a lot of pressure in the first half, as the home side dominated possession and created numerous chances. [/p][p]After 20 minutes, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/yirenkyi-caleb/INmgLCSF/"]Caleb Yirenkyi[/a] headed just wide of the far post, and ten minutes before the break, goalkeeper [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/olafsson-elias/AXTCchy8/"]Elias Olafsson[/a] produced a couple of superb reflex saves to keep FC Midtjylland in the game. [/p][p]First, Olafsson denied a close-range header from Ibrahim Adel, and then subsequently got a hand to a strong close-range shot from Lamine Sadio. [/p][image alt="FC Nordsjaelland - FC Midtjylland - Player Ratings" id="7c5450e8-bc06-424e-b6ea-a30f3a561f7c" credit-line="Flashare" guid="fdfba6be-7aae-4733-821d-5d6662754f21" original-width="1200" original-height="1200" /][p]The visitors struggled to get their attacking game going, but after half an hour, Edward Chilufya was put clean through but failed to find the target, blasting the ball way over the crossbar.[/p][p]The match turned into a more even encounter in the second half, as the visitors had numerous chances to claim the three points. [/p][p]In the second half, it was a more open exchange of blows, and both teams had plenty of chances to claim the win. [/p][p]Juho Lähteenmäki should have done better when the ball, via a couple of deflections, suddenly fell at his feet in the box, but he failed to connect properly with the ball.[/p][p]In a frantic finish, Junior Brumado then squandered a golden chance on the counter when he was denied by the crossbar after 75 minutes. [/p][p]None of the teams came closer to breaking the deadlock, and therefore it ended with a goalless draw in Farum, which means that FC Midtjylland failed to break their jinx in Farum, where they haven't won for five years. [/p]
