NHL to feature new All-Star format to feature four countries and world team

National Hockey League officials announced a revamped format to the NHL All-Star Game starting in 2027 with Canada, Sweden, Finland, the United States and a "World" team.

[p]The event will be conducted February 6, 2027, at UBS Arena in suburban New York, home arena of the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/new-york-islanders/xESz5TGG/"]New York Islanders[/a], with teams playing a three-on-three round-robin tournament.[/p][p]The arena was to have hosted the event this year but it was scrapped when the NHL agreed to shut down so players could compete in the Winter Olympics at Milan.[/p][p]"[b]There was never anything wrong with the All-Star format we've been using for the last few years,[/b]" NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said. Before that came captains picking players and teams assembled by divisions.[/p]
