Roy Keane has revealed he held a friendly talk with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes after controversies earlier this season.

[p]Fernandes criticised [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/keane-roy/barxP9DC/"]Keane[/a] for a "lie" earlier this season after he claimed he had chosen to pass instead of shoot during his pursuit of the Premier League assist record in what would have been a selfish move. [/p][p]The [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/manchester-united/ppjDR086/"]United[/a] captain picked up 21 assists in the Premier League and helped the Red Devils finish third in the top flight to secure Champions League qualification in what was an incredible season for the Portuguese international. [/p][p]Now, the air has been cleared between the two, who Keane revealed had a friendly chat despite the media suggesting the pair were in a brutal feud. [/p][p]"There was a reaction after what we said after the podcast a few weeks ago, with what I said about [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/fernandes-bruno/GYvAMDm2/"]Bruno Fernandes[/a], and he reached out to me, wanted to chat," Keane says.[/p][embed guid="f2571de8-f64b-422a-bc11-ba73b79acbcc" url="https://x.com/WeAreTheOverlap/status/2056641150379823378" social-type="twitter" /][p]“So I called him and we did have a lovely chat. We had a chat about a bit of everything. When we do podcasts or games... sometimes you're trying to communicate something that doesn't come across properly and people get upset.  [/p][p]“We had a nice, mature conversation. It was a lovely chat."[/p][p]Keane even joked about the resolution, saying: "He apologised, I forgave him, no problem. But no, it was a good chat." [/p][p]The 31-year-old will now prepare to feature for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/sporting-cp/tljXuHBC/"]Portugal[/a] this summer where he will hope to keep his form up and hand his country their first ever World Cup trophy. [/p]
