Manchester United raised annual revenue and core profit forecast for the year ‌to June, helped by a ‌third-place finish in ‌the English Premier League and ‌fans snapping up ‌merchandise as the team's fortunes improved on the ‌pitch.

[p]Still, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/manchester-united/ppjDR086/"]United[/a] reported a net ‌loss of £11.8 million for its fiscal third quarter, wider than a year earlier, weighed by falling sponsorship revenue and weaker ticket sales.[/p][p]The club's return to the Champions League is expected to boost revenue ‌next fiscal year as it benefits from lucrative broadcast rights and new sponsorship deals. For the latest quarter, sponsorship revenue was down 9.4%.[/p][p]"We feel very positive about the ‌club's progress this season and the continuing positive ‌impact of our business transformation initiatives," CEO Omar Berrada said in a statement.[/p][image alt="Manchester United finished third in the Premier League" id="ab4d52e4-afb6-45a1-9c62-301693cbf5b8" credit-line="Flashscore" guid="ba59151d-47ee-4c6e-b85f-14dba8d1b279" original-width="1200" original-height="1200" /][p]United's decision to sack head coach Ruben Amorim and his staff with 18 months left on the Portuguese's contract cost the Premier League giants £16.7 million, according to the club financial statement.[/p][p]Amorim was dismissed in January, but his replacement Michael Carrick oversaw an upturn in form which led to United finishing third in the Premier League and securing Champions League qualification for next season.[/p][p]The departure of Amorim is the latest expensive managerial exit from Old Trafford, with figures published in February 2025 showing it had cost United £14.5 million to sack Erik ten Hag and his staff.[/p][p]But the appointment of Carrick, confirmed last week as United's new permanent manager on a two-year contract, appears to have benefitted the Red Devils after Amorim led United to a 15th-place finish in 2025, their worst since they were relegated from the top-flight of English football back in 1974.[/p]
