The Carolina Hurricanes swept the Philadelphia Flyers after their 3-2 win in Game 4 on Saturday.

[p]They became just the fifth team in NHL history to win their first eight games of the playoffs, sweeping their way to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they await the winner between the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/montreal-canadiens/nu2G7VWc/"]Montreal Canadiens[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/buffalo-sabres/UobjtMIP/"]Buffalo Sabres[/a].[/p][p]After scoring the first goal of the game for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/carolina-hurricanes/Sx0gl0tm/"]Carolina[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/blake-jackson/8KcAGWiG/"]Jackson Blake[/a] would be the one to complete the sweep for the Hurricanes with his fourth goal of the playoffs. [/p][p]Goaltender [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/andersen-frederik/OhFcnMIJ/"]Frederik Anderson[/a] has now gone eight straight games without allowing more than two goals. [/p][embed guid="1ea3f2d0-cc7a-431a-9dda-9d379f47057e" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zIOj5E6pDY" social-type="youtube" /]
Recap & Highlights
[p]Despite having only five shots on goal in the first period, the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/philadelphia-flyers/QySGG7oT/"]Flyers[/a] were the ones to get on the board first.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/foerster-tyson/bJRGCl0Q/"]Tyson Foerster[/a] not only recorded his first goal of the playoffs to put the Flyers up [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/carolina-hurricanes-Sx0gl0tm/philadelphia-flyers-QySGG7oT/?mid=6gbATG0n"]1-0[/a], but it was his first point outright with an assist from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zegras-trevor/r7up9Iwr/"]Trevor Zegras[/a] (4) and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/martone-porter/jmrvz23T/"]Porter Martone[/a] (3).[/p][p]It marked Martone's fifth point of the playoffs as he now holds the second-most by any teenager in Flyers history, sitting just four behind [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zubrus-dainius/Cr5J6ko2/"]Dainius Zubrus[/a], who had nine points in 1997.[/p][embed guid="061572e3-6a51-4bf6-90ed-2a54ea434ebe" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2_Zccuzdv8" social-type="youtube" /][p]Foearster was the 16th player on the Flyers to score a goal these playoffs. They needed just one more player to tie the 2025 [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/florida-panthers/fc1eq8Pp/"]Florida Panthers[/a] for the most in the past 30 years. [/p][p]After failing to go up by two goals after going on their first power play of the game, the Flyers managed to kill off the Hurricanes' first power play as well before heading into the second period, where momentum swung in Carolina's favor. [/p][p]The Canes finally got on the board almost a full 33 minutes into the game after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/blake-jackson/8KcAGWiG/"]Blake[/a] scored his third of the playoffs to tie it up [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/carolina-hurricanes-Sx0gl0tm/philadelphia-flyers-QySGG7oT/?mid=6gbATG0n"]1-1[/a]. After neither team could finish it off in the third, the game headed into overtime with the Canes outshooting the Flyers a whopping 36-15.[/p][p]In the end, it was the Canes who came away with the win. [/p][embed guid="a6cafd8f-eecc-4c3c-86ad-58c114f89d9e" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJgMsNdztgY" social-type="youtube" /]
