For the second time in three seasons, Skelleftea have won the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) Finals with a 4-1 series victory over Rogle, who they beat 7-3 at home to wrap up the title in five matches.

[p]A 3-2 away success in game three put [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/skelleftea/8jdWygW7/"]Skelleftea[/a] on the cusp of winning the Le Mat Trophy, and they made no mistake at the first time of asking back up north in front of their home fans. It's the fifth SHL playoff title for SAIK, and the fourth since 2013.[/p][p]Coming into the final series, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/rogle/j5ve8f1r/"]Rogle[/a] knew they had to win at least once in Skelleftea, but 4-1 and 5-1 losses in the first two trips would surely have dampened spirits. Not that they showed it in the opening 10 minutes, as they made a dream start.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/solberg-isac/zXga7rkJ/"]Isac Solberg[/a] set the puck back from behind the net for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/friedman-mark/YJbOXdSK/"]Mark Friedman[/a] to hit first time and break the deadlock, then holding against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/stjernborg-victor/IksTRyYi/"]Victor Stjernborg[/a] allowed [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/horky-lubos/baD1ldaM/"]Lubos Horky[/a] to finish off a patient powerplay move with a quick shot for 2-0.[/p][embed guid="97a76b34-0879-4105-8360-b784386ba010" url="https://x.com/SHLse/status/2050586271928504493" social-type="twitter" /][p]But from then on, it was pretty much all Skelleftea, as the visitors' indiscipline cost them before the first period was up - calls against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sjodin-linus/Ghwmxaxh/"]Linus Sjodin[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zaar-daniel/fwouXpYR/"]Daniel Zaar[/a] were both punished on powerplays, the first scored by [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lindberg-oscar/IBpaSV2T/"]Oscar Lindberg[/a] before [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/aagaard-mikkel/v57qjaw9/"]Mikkel Aargaard[/a] scrambled in the equaliser.[/p][p]The regular season winners then went ahead four minutes into the second period when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/djuse-emil/fqv8tCod/"]Emil Djuse[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/grahn-viktor/hnUwYDvM/"]Viktor Grahn[/a] combined for the latter to score his second goal in as many games, then five minutes later, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lindberg-valter/MJWGI6Zf/"]Valter Lindberg[/a] robbed Rogle of possession behind the net and gave [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/okuliar-oliver/SdnRg9M8/"]Oliver Okuliar[/a] in easy finish.[/p][p]It wasn't until midway through the third period that goal number seven of the game arrived, and it was a fifth unanswered for Skelleftea, and a second in a row for Okuliar. [/p][p]Friedman then made it two for himself to finally end the home side's run and get Rogle back to within two, but hopes of a comeback were ended in the final four minutes, as Stjernborg and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hugg-rickard/UwnzCOS7/"]Rickard Hugg[/a] added empty-net goals to start the Skelleftea party and round off [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/rogle-j5ve8f1r/skelleftea-8jdWygW7/?mid=tzXmG5k5"]a 7-3 victory.[/a][/p][embed guid="1aada94b-3fec-4d1e-82d0-0cd2741e48d0" url="https://x.com/SHLse/status/2050601449776672964" social-type="twitter" /][p]2022 Champions Hockey League winners Rogle are still awaiting an SHL title win, but the Le Mat Trophy belongs to Skelleftea, while Oscar Lindberg took home the Stefan Liv memorial trophy for MVP of the playoffs.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/hockey/sweden/shl-2025-2026/"]Review the 2025/26 SHL season on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
