England defender Djed Spence said he was unfazed by manager Thomas Tuchel's outburst at training, describing the German coach's demands for high standards ‌as "part of the game" as England pursue World Cup glory.

[p]Video of Tuchel ‌shouting "Djed, Djed, Djed, wake up!" during a passing ‌drill in training on Saturday went viral.[/p][p]But the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/tottenham/UDg08Ohm/"]Tottenham ‌Hotspur[/a] player, who made his World Cup debut as ‌a substitute in [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/england/j9N9ZNFA/"]England[/a]'s 4-2 victory over [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/croatia/K8aznggo/"]Croatia[/a] in their opening match on Wednesday, said Tuchel's reaction reflected the standards ‌expected within the camp rather than personal criticism.[/p][p]"It's normal," Spence told ‌TalkSPORT. "He's a great manager. He wants the best from his players. He demands high standards and for this tournament, we need to be ready, we need to be on it.[/p][p]"Every session needs to be of the highest quality. That's what he demands. It's good. I wouldn't be the only one he says it to. It's part of the game."[/p][p]Spence said the 52-year-old coach had fostered a strong sense of unity within the squad.[/p][image alt="England - Ghana win probability" id="e7dcd6dc-4941-41e0-a5b8-b36221abaf11" credit-line="Opta by StatsPerform" guid="3f9b0804-7543-41c8-82f6-1da7f67327c0" original-width="1080" original-height="1080" /][p]"I think he's ‌a great manager, he's a great guy.
