UEFA Conference League draw hands Mjallby trips to Atalanta and Kairat

[p]Having never played in Europe at any level before this summer, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/mjallby/S0XtXM1E/"]Mjallby[/a]'s position as Allsvenskan champions saw them begin their journey in the UEFA Champions League (UCL), where they beat [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/lincoln-red-imps/bHbMply6/"]Lincoln Red Imps[/a] before falling to defeat against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/slovan-bratislava/QRaWdwQf/"]Slovan Bratislava[/a], which set up the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/salzburg/Olvehxrl/"]Salzburg[/a] tie.[/p][p]Karl Marius Aksum's side saw their league form dwindle during their European qualification run, and their season is not set to get any easier once the league phase begins in October.[/p][p][b]The draw threw up three particularly challenging away ties for Mjallby, who will travel to 2024 UEL champions [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/atalanta/8C9JjMXu/"]Atalanta[/a][/b], and make long trips to Georgia and Kazakhstan to face [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/iberia-1999/dhfRkskl/"]Iberia[/a] 1999 and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/kairat-almaty/CrO7xXpJ/"]Kairat[/a], respectively.[/p][p]Kairat and Atalanta both played in the UCL last season, as did one of Mjallby's home opponents, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/pafos/n99DUVW8/"]Pafos[/a] of Cyprus.
