The Milwaukee Brewers became the first National League team to clinch a Postseason spot after defeating the Cincinnati Reds 20-0 on Friday.

[p]This now marks the second time the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/milwaukee-brewers/CGzqC60o/"]Brewers[/a] have put up at least 20 runs this season, previously scoring 22 against the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/seattle-mariners/txYPhSac/"]Seattle Mariners[/a] on August 18th. [/p][p]Eight of the nine players in the starting lineup had at least two hits each, with Cooper Pratt being the outlier with one.[/p][p]Jackson Chourio, William Contreras, and Bryce Turang led the way, going a combined [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/baseball/cincinnati-reds-EkWXj6U9/milwaukee-brewers-CGzqC60o/?mid=plnPNvrJ"]9-for-14[/a] with two home runs, eight runs scored, and 12 RBI. [/p][embed guid="a520bad7-a0b9-4f59-b2af-8bcdacd4abfb" url="https://x.com/Brewers/status/2098594311851872324?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][p]They possess the best record (93-56) and are the only team with at least 50 wins at home (52-25).[/p][p]Surpisingly, they're almost dead last in home runs (141), just above the Cleveland Guardians (139). But they're first in hits (1,303), tied fourth in doubles (259), and second in runs (762). Their .259 team batting average sits just below the American League-leading Tampa Bay Rays (.260) for the second-best in the league, also right behind them with the fourth-most stolen bases (143). [/p][p]Their pitching has the second-most strikeouts (1,414) and the second-best team earned run average (3.53) behind the New York Yankees (3.20).[/p][p]Milwaukee have now reached the Postseason in eight of the last nine seasons, putting up at least 90 wins in six of those seasons (excluding COVID season). [/p][embed guid="b061f6a7-ca8d-4710-b0a0-c8ea063e55d6" url="https://x.com/MLB/status/2098595863761244232?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][infobox id="3e982646-21d3-4baf-ac34-10f731dff476" /]
