Graham Potter has elected to bring Borussia Dortmund's Daniel Svensson and Tottenham Hotspur's Lucas Bergvall into Sweden's starting line-up for their World Cup Round of 32 meeting with France at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (21:00 CEST).

[p]The defensive shape and line-up was going to be a big call for Potter, after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hien-isak/hz4zWEIG/"]Isak Hien[/a] was ruled out for the rest of the tournament having come off injured in the first half against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/japan/ULXPdOUj/"]Japan[/a].[/p][p]Captain [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lindelof-victor/OIp0Le1f/"]Victor Lindelof[/a] has slotted back into the heart of defence, having begun the Japan game in the centre of midfield - a place now occupied by [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bergvall-lucas/th3mAHj9/"]Bergvall[/a], who came off the bench to replace the injured Hien.[/p][p]There is also a change at wing-back, where [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bernhardsson-alexander/0Ah8TRF1/"]Alexander Bernhardsson[/a] has been dropped in favour of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/svensson-daniel/bs9KBNfb/"]Svensson[/a].[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/news/soccer-fifa-world-cup-2026-day-20-live-updates/6BxD9JMk/"]Follow Flashscore's World Cup tracker for all the action as it happens >>[/a][/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/deschamps-didier/M9jPX2nf/"]Didier Deschamps[/a] made just four changes to his starting XI for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/france/QkGeVG1n/"]France[/a]'s win over [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/norway/8rP6JO0H/"]Norway[/a] in their final group game having already made sure of qualification, and he has opted to bring back the same four who were rested after the victory over [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/iraq/K8aAGt6r/"]Iraq[/a] in their second match.[/p][p]That means there are two changes in defence, where [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lacroix-maxence/j5bGWFU7/"]Maxence Lacroix[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hernandez-theo/ATurLHr0/"]Theo Hernandez[/a] have been replaced by [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/saliba-william/EgIM3sB7/"]William Saliba[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/digne-lucas/v9Ux4sua/"]Lucas Digne[/a], plus a change in both the holding and attacking midfield, as [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/rabiot-adrien/l08EAP2Q/"]Adrien Rabiot[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/barcola-bradley/lhGD3RgS/"]Bradley Barcola[/a] come back in, in place of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kone-kouadio/YDaoYZBS/"]Manu Kone[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/doue-desire/KIUWH2Jq/"]Desire Doue[/a].[/p][p]Les Bleus' coach is back in the dugout tonight having missed the Norway game to travel home and attend his mother's funeral.[/p]
[a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/sweden/OQyqbHWB/"]Sweden[/a] XI to face France
[p]Goalkeeper: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zetterstrom-widell/OG2Bcuat/"]Jacob Widell Zetterstrom[/a][/p][p]Defenders: Daniel Svensson, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lagerbielke-gustaf/UwOm1wvF/"]Gustaf Lagerbielke[/a], Victor Lindelof, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/gudmundsson-gabriel/0zzTdK1T/"]Gabriel Gudmundsson[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/stroud-elliot/4rVMk5Sb/"]Elliot Stroud[/a][/p][p]Midfielders: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/ayari-yasin/vTrnQI0N/"]Yasin Ayari[/a], Lucas Bergvall[/p][p]Forwards: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/elanga-anthony/dOlRWlZ6/"]Anthony Elanga[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/gyokeres-viktor/zaBZ1xIk/"]Viktor Gyokeres[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/isak-alexander/p41IV42c/"]Alexander Isak[/a][/p][embed guid="0d1e7803-2855-4964-a925-6e7020e161a4" url="https://x.com/svenskfotboll/status/2072040905209491883" social-type="twitter" /]
France XI to face Sweden
[p]Goalkeeper: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/maignan-mike/S6gN2QNC/"]Mike Maignan[/a][/p][p]Defenders: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kounde-jules/v36QVRPu/"]Jules Kounde[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/upamecano-dayot/OMhLhEJB/"]Dayot Upamecano[/a], William Saliba, Lucas Digne[/p][p]Holding Midfielders: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/tchouameni-aurelien/QkiZum3e/"]Aurelien Tchouameni[/a], Adrian Rabiot[/p][p]Attacking Midfielders: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/dembele-ousmane/zsMC2Ec0/"]Ousmane Dembele[/a], [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/olise-michael/E5pvwqkK/"]Michael Olise[/a], Bradley Barcola[/p][p]Forward: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/mbappe-kylian/Wn6E2SED/"]Kylian Mbappe[/a][/p][embed guid="9f5c4c17-6d0e-40a8-89a3-f9ff64302a1f" url="https://x.com/equipedefrance/status/2072043075677917214" social-type="twitter" /][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/france-QkGeVG1n/sweden-OQyqbHWB/?mid=UN3MMEFl"]Follow every moment of France vs Sweden on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
