Swedish international Stroud joins Premier League new boys Hull City from Mjallby

One of the worst-kept secrets in Swedish football was finally announced on 9th August, as Elliot Stroud completed his move from Mjallby to Premier League newcomers Hull City.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/hull-city/S66R0t75/"]Hull[/a] are said to have fought off interest from other clubs around Europe to sign [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/stroud-elliot/4rVMk5Sb/"]Stroud[/a], who has joined the Tigers on a four-year deal - with an option to extend by a further 12 months - for an undisclosed fee.[/p][p]Stroud, who can operate in various positions on the left side, played in all four of Sweden's matches at the 2026 World Cup in the summer despite only making his international debut in the pre-tournament warm-up matches.[/p][p]He attracted the interest of national team manager Graham Potter after [b]starring for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/mjallby/S0XtXM1E/"]Mjallby[/a] in their shock Allsvenskan title win in 2025, scoring nine times and producing five assists across 28 league appearances. He also helped the team from the fishing village win the Swedish Cup earlier this year,[/b] and added a further four goal involvements in 10 Allsvenskan matches in 2026.[/p][p]His final game for Mjallby saw him score from the penalty spot in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/slovan-bratislava/QRaWdwQf/"]Slovan Bratislava[/a] on 4th August, only for his side to concede late in a 2-1 first-leg defeat.[/p][embed guid="2eca5988-3148-4f44-a617-d0285e60ed13" url="https://x.com/HullCity/status/2086467543141695770" social-type="twitter" /][p]The 24-year-old has an English father, but will now play outside of Sweden for the first time, having come through the ranks at IK Oddevold.[/p][p]I am super happy and super excited to get started here.
