[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/carrick-michael/phM8NElP/"]Carrick[/a] has been a revelation in the dugout since returning to the club, recording 10 wins from 15 matches and instilling the players with incredible belief and confidence in his ability. [/p][p]Bryan Mbeumo even publicly urged [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/manchester-united/ppjDR086/"]Man United[/a] to give Carrick a permanent deal after securing Champions League football, and the likes of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/traore-amad/I5Rhq1WL/"]Amad Diallo[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/fernandes-bruno/GYvAMDm2/"]Bruno Fernandes[/a] have also done similar. [/p][p]The 44-year-old's efforts are set to be rewarded with a contract, and according to [a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7281399/2026/05/15/manchester-united-michael-carrick-contract-latest/" target="_blank"]The Athletic[/a], United are offering him a two-year deal with the option of a further year. [/p][embed guid="167cf94f-30c8-465e-91ed-7dd6e41adde6" url="https://x.com/lauriewhitwell/status/2055238042550509745" social-type="twitter" /][p]Talks are now underway after co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe gave the go-ahead following an executive committee meeting this week, where chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox recommended him to get the job full-time.[/p][p]While negotiations will continue, the club are confident they will be complete before Man United's final home game of the season [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/manchester-utd-ppjDR086/nottingham-UsushcZr/?mid=r7lSurwo"]against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.[/a][/p][image alt="Man Utd in the Premier League standings" id="bdb62864-d399-4e3e-abca-08bd49cefd7f" credit-line="Flashscore" guid="eceb0e04-fcaf-42d5-9264-727ed7fb9d8e" original-width="1200" original-height="1200" /][p]That would give Carrick the chance to sign off from Old Trafford with clarity and assure fans of who will be in charge next term.[/p]
