Consortium including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos set to buy huge stake in Liverpool

[p]Bezos, who has a personal fortune of around $257 billion according to Forbes - making him the fourth-richest person in the world - will invest in [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/liverpool/lId4TMwf/"]Liverpool[/a] ahead of the new season.[/p][p]FSG are reportedly preparing to make an announcement about a transaction as early as this week in what is a fast-moving deal between Bezos and Eduardo Saverin, one of the co-founders of the social network Facebook.[/p][p][b]Sky Sports state that the investment in Liverpool, worth roughly one-third of the club, will value the organisation at $6 billion, making it one of the sport's richest-ever deals.[/b][/p][p]Saverin and Bezos join a consortium led by Amit Bhatia, who is the son-in-law of steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal and was until recently a shareholder in Championship side [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/qpr/lrMHUHDc/"]Queens Park Rangers[/a].[/p][embed guid="ce3c2074-8b0b-4b9f-a71a-6a4616d5c614" url="https://x.com/AnfieldSector/status/2086752398941335763?s=20" social-type="twitter" /][p]FSG, also owners of the Boston Red Sox, acquired Liverpool for just £300m with the club in a troubled state financially. Now, with a 30%+ stake set to be sold, FSG, run by John Henry and Tom Werner, who are both in their mid-70s, are clearly keen to cash in.[/p]
