League leaders AGF on Sunday moved seven points clear at the top of the Danish league with seven matches left when they won the hugely important away clash against third-placed Viborg 2-1.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/viborg/v99EsEjo/"]Viborg[/a] has developed into a strong force at home, and the home side also had the brightest start in Sunday's match with creative one-touch football and clever build-up, and they were rewarded already after seven minutes, when Asker Beck found an unmarked [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/jalal-sami/GYewPHTs/"]Sami Jalal[/a] inside the box, and Jalal steered the ball past [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/aarhus/OOXnKGbO/"]Aarhus[/a] goalkeeper [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hansen-jesper/b1grbWwo/"]Jesper Hansen[/a].[/p][p]However, the home side did not have long to celebrate as Viborg-keeper [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lund-lucas/ELI7TVp9/"]Lucas Lund[/a] invited the visitors back into the match when he failed to hang on to a cross from Felix Bejimo, and German striker [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/serra-janni-luca/Sj1nU4Ob/"]Janni Serra[/a] reacted quickly to poke the ball over the line to the despair of the local supporters.[/p][p]Despite the equalizer, Viborg continued to dominate the match and created many half-chances without being able to restore the lead against a resilient AGF outfit, who, during a very difficult period of the match, were saved by a very resilient rearguard. And against the run of play, AGF took a very undeserved lead four minutes from the interval when Serra scored his second of the night as he rose high to head home a long throw-in from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/dalsgaard-henrik/27ecmYUM/"]Henrik Dalsgaard[/a].[/p][image alt="Viborg - AGF - Player Ratings" id="b91b22ff-6daa-4d5a-8d4c-3c414fff430b" credit-line="Flashare" guid="7756acb8-4e93-4e2c-ac13-74b437488a5a" original-width="1200" original-height="1200" /][p]In the second half, the visitors settled more into their stylish stride, even though Viborg were still dangerous on the counter. AGF failed to take advantage of a host of chances to make it 3-1, allowing Viborg to preserve the hope of a late equaliser, but AGF hung on for what could turn into a hugely important win for their title aspirations. [/p][p]Bottom-of-the-league Vejle Boldklub still need a virtual miracle to escape relegation, even though they scored a last-gasp equaliser to claim a point against Randers. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/mahmoud-elies/GQoFieNf/"]Elies Mahmoud[/a] had otherwise given the visitors the lead after ten minutes when he coolly steered the ball into the net as the ball fell kindly at his feet following a free-kick.[/p][p]However, Vejle had the last laugh and claimed their third successive draw when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/duelund-mikkel/p8cPuw73/"]Mikkel Duelund[/a] converted a penalty in injury time after Bismark Edjeodji had been brought down in the box by Daniel Hoegh.[/p][p]OB reclaimed seventh spot in the league and can still dream of playing in Europe next season when German striker [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/niemiec-jonah/lvfGmMDJ/"]Jona Niemiec[/a] gave them a 1-0 win with a clinical first-timer deep into injury-time against Fredericia. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/marcussen-gustav/b50y5IhM/"]Gustav Marcussen[/a] otherwise had the chance to give the visitors an unlikely win when he was put clean through in the second half against Odense keeper [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/myhra-viljar/bsW4WlXB/"]Viljar Myhra[/a], but squandered the attempt, giving the home side the chance to steal the win in the dying seconds. [/p]
