The battle for the Le Mat Trophy in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) playoff finals is back on again after Rogle beat Skelleftea 2-1 after overtime to cut their overall series deficit to 2-1.

[p]The number one seeds had looked too strong in their two home games to open the 2026 finals, winning 4-1 and 5-1, but [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/rogle/j5ve8f1r/"]Rogle[/a] did just enough to get off the mark back at home in Angelholm.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/skelleftea/8jdWygW7/"]Skelleftea[/a] appeared to be giving them every chance of doing that in the first period, as [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/johansson-pontus/Or8s7TPe/"]Pontus Johansson[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/krogdahl-max/Uu5QmA17/"]Max Krogdahl[/a] both spent two minutes in the penalty box, before the visitors had too many men on the ice, but Rogle failed to score from any of the powerplays.[/p][p]The hosts had six more shots on goal than Skelleftea in the first period, then did the same in the second as the away side continued to have discipline issues - Johansson was called for a second time before they again committed too many bodies to the ice.[/p][embed guid="4bd279da-9195-4293-89a4-404a77098dd0" url="https://x.com/roglebk/status/2049223947003015486" social-type="twitter" /][p]Finally, almost 16 minutes into the second period, Rogle made one of the powerplays count, when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/dickinson-josh/IiSJCKLQ/"]Josh Dickinson[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kuhlman-karson/Qm4fNlSg/"]Karson Kuhlman[/a] combined to set up [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/olofsson-fredrik/EaoM2Dbt/"]Fredrik Olofsson[/a], who took his time before firing in for his fourth postseason goal.[/p][p]But in the third period, SAIK managed to keep their discipline, and it paid dividends with 10 minutes remaining, when a forward pass from Johansson found [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/stjernborg-victor/IksTRyYi/"]Victor Stjernborg[/a] in space on the left. He cut inside and finished well to send the game to overtime.[/p][p]It took over six minutes of the extra period, but RBK ensured the first three matches of the series went the way of the home side - [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sandin-linus/xj6jrOtB/"]Linus Sandin[/a] used his speed down the right side before squaring the puck across for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bengtsson-anton/Wrrh9m4S/"]Anton Bengtsson[/a] to apply the finish and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/rogle-j5ve8f1r/skelleftea-8jdWygW7/?mid=GW3m172k"]win it 2-1[/a].[/p][p]Playing in their third SHL finals and their second against Skelleftea, Rogle are now one win away from their best performance, having lost 4-1 on both previous occasions. Their chance to level the series comes at home again on Thursday 30th.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/hockey/sweden/shl-2025-2026/"]Follow the SHL Finals on Flashscore.[/a][/p]
