Thanks to a goal in the dying seconds from striker James Bogere, who had replaced Gift Links, AGF recaptured the top spot in the Danish Superliga with a 2-1 win against Sonderjyske on Sunday evening.

[p]AGF put maximum pressure on championship rival [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/midtjylland/8GZDmdbB/"]FC Midtjylland[/a] on Sunday with a 2-1 win over [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/sonderjyske/42ectuVa/"]Sonderjyske[/a] at home.18-year-old [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bogere-james/rmEKGgCc/"]James Bogere[/a] became the big hero when he sent the crowd in Vejlby into raptures in injury time with his first goal for AGF.[/p][p]Ten minutes earlier, the away team's [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hyseni-olti/lWTAAsAd/"]Olti Hyseni[/a] had equalized [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bech-tobias/fL5m1CfP/"]Tobias Bech[/a]'s opening goal from the start of the second half and created a nervous atmosphere among the home team's fans.[/p][p]Thanks to the win, AGF has a three-point gap to FC Midtjylland, who will host arch-rivals Viborg FF on Monday evening and can regain first place with a win due to a clearly better goal difference than the Aarhus team.[/p][p]Sunday's match in Vejlby was very symbolic of AGF's spring season. The home side dominated throughout the encounter but struggled to make their dominance tell on the scoreboard. [/p][p]Norwegian profile Kristian Arnstad demonstrated this already after six minutes, when he squandered an open opportunity with a poor shot at Sonderjyske keeper Nicolai Flo.[/p][image alt="AGF - Sonderjyske - Player Ratings" id="81dd50f5-e557-4446-842c-7746dc0bcc4e" credit-line="Flashare" guid="4805f999-7046-4c79-9809-bad8a322391d" original-width="1200" original-height="1200" /][p]The whirlwind Gift Links did his best to give the hosts the necessary spark with many energetic touches, but he was alone in posing a threat.[/p][p]AGF coach Jakob Poulsen took the consequence of that and put [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/emmery-frederik/A3y0J3Ku/"]Frederik Emmery[/a] into action from the start of the second half, which paid off almost immediately.[/p][p]Emmery ended up in a duel with striker Matthew Hoppe on AGF's left side, and curled a perfect delivery into the box where Bech rose high to direct a strong header past Flo.[/p][p]It seemed only a matter of time before AGF would double the lead before the visitors equalized against the run of play with nine minutes remaining.[/p][p]Anders Bergholt put the ball across the box to the onrushing Olti Hyseni, who scored his fifth goal of the season - four of which have been scored in the spring.[/p][p]The game looked to be headed for a draw when Bogere's shot from the edge of the box took a deflection off Maxime Soulas and into the back of the net. [/p]
