Prior to the maiden Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Madring circuit in Madrid, Spain, the media enjoyed a private truck tour of the brand-new Spanish Grand Prix circuit.

[p]Although the official start is set for tomorrow, Friday, September 11, the Spanish Grand Prix is already underway this Thursday and Flashscore is present at the Madrid Fair from early morning to bring you all the action from the capital’s debut on the Formula 1 calendar.[/p][p]The first impression couldn’t have been better, as the organisers of the 'Big Circus' arranged a private tour for the media where we got to see the details of 'Madring' live - the same ones that have been talked about and debated for so long.[/p][image alt="Flashscore visited Madring" id="e1cc8b42-7b62-4e48-816d-efcba7c6d1e0" credit-line="Flashscore Spain" guid="20fa81cb-1f37-41a5-a76e-6877c44dbbc5" original-width="1250" original-height="1000" /][p]Just like a drivers’ parade, we hopped onto two trucks that took a good number of journalists and photographers along the 5,416 meters that make up a circuit where, as expected, La Monumental was the most impressive spot.[/p][p]It had already been said that the most distinctive corner of the track was the banked Turn 12, with its more than 500 meters in length and a 24% incline that makes it almost vertical, but we weren’t fully aware of the vertigo it causes until we found ourselves nearly parallel to the asphalt while riding in the truck.[/p][image alt="This is what one of the first corners of 'Madring' looks like" id="fc349bdd-fcb0-4116-989c-c3ff3fc14247" credit-line="Flshscore Spain" guid="e72d2837-bae3-43b7-ae1e-dac20671a93c" original-width="4032" original-height="2268" /]
Just in time
[p]On the other hand, we saw that concerns about not delivering 'Madring' in time for this 2026 Spanish GP were completely justified: although everything needed to hold the event is finished, many decorative and atmospheric details haven’t been fully polished, even though the iconic Ferris wheel dominates the surroundings. No doubt it will reach its full splendour by 2027.[/p][image alt="The Ferris wheel dominates 'Madring'" id="f76db28b-4107-4f9a-9d58-41859f2da4ae" credit-line="Flashscore Spain" guid="69cffc96-9f16-4ac0-8a8f-3026c8c9b0ba" original-width="4032" original-height="2268" /][p]On the purely technical side, we found a circuit made up of 22 corners (10 to the left and 12 to the right) with 57 laps to be completed on Sunday, totalling 308.524 kilometres. In addition, the main straight is just over 500 meters long, while the highest point is at 696.7 meters (Turn 7) and the lowest at 671.05 (Turn 2).[/p][p]We can say that 'Madring' will be a really fun challenge for the drivers, with tunnel sections and great overtaking spots, so all that’s left is to enjoy the show.[/p][image alt="The team garages are ready" id="a689d9fa-5fbd-4c4f-ada1-e6c8581291ef" credit-line="Flashscore Spain" guid="22a3ab6c-e868-4bbd-b779-d08760c93bca" original-width="4032" original-height="2268" /]
