Inter Milan moved nine points clear at the top of Serie A after recovering from 2-0 down to claim a 4-3 win over Como, securing an 11th consecutive top-flight H2H victory in the process.

[p]The [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/inter/Iw7eKK25/"]Nerazzurri[/a] made the short journey north looking to take a huge step in regaining the Scudetto after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/napoli/69Dxbc61/"]Napoli[/a]’s draw with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/parma/6DxlaxHN/"]Parma[/a] earlier on Sunday. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/como/ttyLthOA/"]Como[/a], though, had their own lofty ambitions of sealing UEFA Champions League qualification for the first time and were doing most of the early probing, with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/dumfries-denzel/QR0j1ejk/"]Denzel Dumfries[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/acerbi-francesco/SrhnSpzL/"]Francesco Acerbi[/a] making superb last-ditch blocks to stop efforts from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/douvikas-anastasios/YgPGkQYi/"]Anastasios Douvikas[/a] and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/valle-gomez-alex/tjU5LW2F/"]Alex Valle[/a]. [/p][p]It was a sign of things to come, as the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia erupted into raptures when Valle broke the deadlock in the 36th minute. The full-back scored his first senior goal by clinically dispatching a loose ball after [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/sommer-yann/4zA5n1UG/"]Yann Sommer[/a] parried [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/paz-martinez-nicolas/GG6EYRT0/"]Nico Paz[/a]’s initial shot into the Spaniard’s path. [/p][p]Paz added his name to the scoresheet just before half-time, as the Argentine took a long ball forward from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/butez-jean/QHLJe7td/"]Jean Butez[/a] into his stride, opened up his body and fired home a superb left-footed strike which clipped in off the post. [/p][p]However, Inter had the last word in an absorbing end to the half when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/thuram-marcus/hMMX02Fm/"]Marcus Thuram[/a] halved the deficit with a fine improvised first-time finish from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/barella-nicolo/W0yrjzz2/"]Nicolo Barella[/a]'s cross.[/p][image alt="Match momentum" id="67a48fd6-b608-4033-9d5a-548fa89322e1" credit-line="Opta by StatsPerform" guid="a3724970-0c22-493d-b070-2833580af726" original-width="1080" original-height="1080" /][p]Como were the architects of their own downfall when Thuram struck again just four minutes into the second half to wipe out their two-goal lead. Barella was the provider on this occasion too, playing a precise ball into the path of the Frenchman, who clinically lobbed Butez as he was stranded outside of the penalty area. [/p][p]A remarkable comeback was complete just two minutes shy of the hour mark when Dumfries headed home from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/calhanoglu-hakan/IRQeP5FJ/"]Hakan Calhanoglu[/a]’s free-kick at the far post, as the visitors showed the characteristics of champions-elect.[/p][p]The hosts were in no mood to accept their fate though, with Sommer doing well to push away a very awkward set-piece from Paz.[/p][p]But, crucially, Cristian Chivu’s side struck again to kick the stuffing out of Cesc Fabregas’ outfit. [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/akanji-manuel/UJm2XpLH/"]Manuel Akanji[/a] brought down Calhanoglu’s searching delivery and allowed Dumfries to rifle home his second and Inter’s fourth, effectively rubber-stamping all three points.[/p][embed guid="e7bbbc64-a531-4873-9f0c-ca1d3c618a3d" url="https://x.com/SerieA_EN/status/2043424282345160750" social-type="twitter" /][p]The Biancoblu would have the last word, though, when [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/da-cunha-lucas/IXqHAIWJ/"]Lucas Da Cunha[/a] dispatched a penalty, with [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/bonny-ange-yoan/08MpRWg8/"]Ange-Yoan Bonny[/a] penalised for a challenge on Paz.[/p][p]This felt like an ominous victory for Chivu’s men, who appear to be back on track in pursuit of a 21st top-flight title after securing a 10th win in their previous 12 away league games.[/p][p]Meanwhile, this result ended an eight-match unbeaten run across all competitions for Como (W5, D3), who missed the chance to move into the top four after succumbing to a sixth league defeat of the season.[/p][p]Flashscore Man of the Match: [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/dumfries-denzel/QR0j1ejk/"]Denzel Dumfries[/a] ([a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/inter/Iw7eKK25/"]Inter Milan[/a])[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/como-ttyLthOA/inter-Iw7eKK25/summary/stats/?mid=zTZUXUXR"]Catch up on the match stats here.[/a][/p][embed guid="157c6d05-82f6-4c7d-be1d-7bd433f9e1f6" url="https://x.com/Flashscorecom/status/2043429219154133090" social-type="twitter" /]
