The Colorado Avalanche won their sixth-straight game of these playoffs after defeating the Minnesota Wild 5-2 in Game 2 on Tuesday.

[p]It makes it five straight Game 2 home wins for the Avalanche as they improved to 45-0-0 when leading after the second period this season. [/p][p]The series now heads back to Minnesota for Game 3 on May 9th, when the Wild will try to dig themselves out of a deep hole as they are 1-8 all-time when trailing 2-0 in a playoff series. [/p][p]Meanwhile, the Avs are 18-4 all-time when leading a playoff series 2-0. [/p]
Recap & Highlights
[p]Much like Game 1, this time was no different, with both teams getting on the scoreboard early.[/p][p]On the very first shot on goal from the Avs, [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/necas-martin/lMcuOznA/"]Martin Necas[/a] scored his first of the playoffs to put [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/colorado-avalanche/hACAnvBa/"]Colorado[/a] up [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/colorado-avalanche-hACAnvBa/minnesota-wild-j9Ck7BHi/?mid=vNzc2v2m"]1-0[/a] just 2:51 after puck-drop. [/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/mackinnon-nathan/dhMyX3sE/"]Nathan MacKinnon[/a] (5) and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kulak-brett/YcwvEJnk/"]Brett Kulak[/a] (2) picked up the assists.[/p][p]It would take a measly six seconds for the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/minnesota-wild/j9Ck7BHi/"]Wild[/a] to respond with their first goal of the game on their second overall shot on net - the fifth-fastest between goals of opposing teams in Stanley Cup Playoffs history.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kaprizov-kirill/dUVy6hct/"]Kirill Kaprizov[/a] scored his third of the playoffs, with assists from [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hartman-ryan/hp1XmbfH/"]Ryan Hartman[/a] (4) and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zuccarello-mats/dUgUZg2M/"]Mats Zuccarello[/a] (5), to make it [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/colorado-avalanche-hACAnvBa/minnesota-wild-j9Ck7BHi/?mid=vNzc2v2m"]1-1[/a]. [/p][p]Zuccarello became the third player in Wild history to record a point in each of his first five playoff games with the team, joining Kaprizov and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/parise-zach/UJa7d9hH/"]Zach Parise[/a]. [/p][embed guid="78dc1b2c-60e1-4c8d-895d-efb6decde1a6" url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdjJ6-1AKRg" social-type="youtube" /][p]The Avs wouldn't respond within seconds, but it took them less than six minutes to go back up one. [/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/landeskog-gabriel/6ikuwFTl/"]Gabriel Landeskog[/a] scored his third goal of the playoffs after the Avs went on their first power play of the game, putting his squad up [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/hockey/colorado-avalanche-hACAnvBa/minnesota-wild-j9Ck7BHi/?mid=vNzc2v2m"]2-1[/a]. [/p][p]MacKinnon (6) and Martin Necas (6) both picked up the assists. He has only allowed more than two goals in a game these playoffs just once - their 9-6 Game 1 win over the Wild. [/p]
