Manchester City are looking towards a mini summer overhaul, with sources indicating the club could make five new signings.

[p]As Flashscore has consistently reported, a deal for [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/anderson-elliott/KdYCbsbE/"]Elliot Anderson[/a] from Nottingham Forest has been on the cards -  and that deal is now entering its final stages. [/p][p]Anderson has been [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/manchester-city/Wtn9Stg0/"]City[/a]'s priority midfield target since January, with the club pushing hard to secure an agreement in recent weeks. He is set to undergo a medical while away with England at the World Cup before completing the move.[/p][p]However, Anderson is not expected to be City's only midfield addition this summer.[/p][p]Sources have told Flashscore that another proven central midfielder is likely to arrive, with Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali among the players the club have studied closely.[/p][p]Tottenham are currently in control of trying to secure a deal for Tonali, but he remains one of the names admired internally as City assess the market for further reinforcements. It is thought they have three other names in mind as well at this stage. [/p][embed guid="b3d7e306-eab9-4848-a4ea-f483b7d36ac4" url="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2070259614206017553" social-type="twitter" /][p]Strengthening at full-back is also a key objective. Flashscore revealed earlier this week that Chelsea's Malo Gusto is firmly on City's radar, with the Frenchman viewed as one of several options capable of adding quality and energy to the defensive unit.[/p][p]The recruitment drive is expected to extend beyond midfield and defence.[/p][p]City are also anticipating the arrival of a new attacker to add greater depth and versatility in the final third, while the club are in the market for another goalkeeper as part of their wider squad planning.[/p][p]The scale of City's recruitment reflects what is shaping up to be one of the most significant summers in the club's recent history.  Preparations are underway for life after Pep Guardiola, with Enzo Maresca being primed to take charge.[/p][p]The pursuit of Anderson is seen internally as a statement signing for that next chapter, with City looking to refresh the squad while maintaining the technical and tactical identity that has brought them so much success. [/p][infobox id="f961102e-920a-4281-b5f2-f996852544cf" /]
