'Confident' Sweden relish tight schedule despite being pushed to their limits

[p]But as usual, the best tonic for any problem in sport is the winning feeling, which [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/sweden/OQyqbHWB/"]Sweden[/a] had three times in their four matches in this camp, as they remained unbeaten and sit atop Group B4 and on course for back-to-back promotions in the UEFA Nations League.[/p][p]Graham Potter's side capped off this window with a hard-fought [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/romania-IaD8jZpU/sweden-OQyqbHWB/?mid=SbevBQf2"]1-0 away win[/a] against [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/romania/IaD8jZpU/"]Romania[/a], completing the double over [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/hagi-gheorghe/4v9EM0Ct/"]Gheorghe Hagi[/a]'s side and recording a first clean sheet in 18 matches - their first under Potter, and first since beating [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/hungary/MTVhw6Go/"]Hungary[/a] 2-0 in a friendly in June 2025.[/p][p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/gyokeres-viktor/zaBZ1xIk/"]Viktor Gyokeres[/a] was one of the ever-presents for Sweden in this window, and his four goals in four games certainly lifted the mood, but the chopping and changing required to fill a full matchday squad yet still getting results has also been great for the squad, says captain [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/lindelof-victor/OIp0Le1f/"]Victor Lindelof[/a]: "If you look at this camp and everything that has happened, it has shown that we have a good squad and players who come in and help immediately. That gives me confidence.[/p][p]"No matter what happens, whether it's the Nations League or the European Championship qualifiers, I'm calm," the centre-back continued.[/p][p]Four matches in 11 days may be a novelty for national teams outside major tournaments, but matches in international windows have always come thick and fast, and therefore this one is no different for Lindelof.[/p][p]"I'm used to it; it's been like this for me for the last ten years. It's one game after another. I'm trying to work on my recovery, eating, sleeping and getting treatment," he said.[/p][embed guid="0392dbfa-f7ff-4e5a-ae6d-3d872e0cb6df" url="https://x.com/svenskfotboll/status/2107393262256541905" social-type="twitter" /][p]Playing matches in quick succession is no different to the club schedule that players would otherwise be partaking in at this stage of the season, especially in leagues like England's Championship, where goalkeeper [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/johansson-viktor/hG7X4mv9/"]Viktor Johansson[/a] plies his trade.[/p][p]"We play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, so for me it's not a big difference. I like it. They're a great bunch, so it's just a plus to hang out with them (the squad)," said the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/stoke-city/hSUajdSS/"]Stoke City[/a] man.[/p][p]The willingness to be part of the group and enjoy the time together will be music to the ears of Potter and Lindelof, especially when the senitment comes from players who are still relatively new to the setup.[/p][p]"Those who get injured probably don't like having so many games, but I like it - I want to play games and hang out with the guys," said [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/zeneli-besfort/hbgshYpl/"]Besfort Zeneli[/a].[/p]
