In an interview given to Flashscore just hours before Brazil open their World Cup campaign, Alexandre Pato named Brazil as one of the main contenders for the title. For the former Brazilian striker, the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti is a decisive added value: "He has won everything, he's the best in the world."

[p]The excitement surrounding the new era of [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/brazil/I9l9aqLq/"]Brazil[/a] under [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/ancelotti-carlo/nZQG5IgJ/"]Carlo Ancelotti[/a] is growing day by day. Among the most passionate supporters of the Italian coach is also [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/alexandre-pato/Acxka2u3/"]Alexandre Pato[/a], who looks to the Seleção's future with great confidence and has no doubts about the Brazilian federation's choice.[/p][p]Speaking exclusively to Flashscore just hours before the [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/game/soccer/brazil-I9l9aqLq/morocco-IDKYO3R8/?mid=b5JayTEd"]match[/a] between Brazil and [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/morocco/IDKYO3R8/"]Morocco[/a], the former Brazilian striker praised Ancelotti, naming the Brazilian national team as one of the main favourites to win the next World Cup.[/p][p]"It will be great, the first match will be tough, but I'm sure Brazil will do very well," Pato told Flashscore's Fabio Russomando.[/p][p]During Brazil's press conference on Friday, Ancelotti mentioned Spain as the favourites to win it all, perhaps to take the pressure off Brazil by playing mind games.[/p][image alt="Carlo Ancelotti oversees a training session of Brazil" id="534a1a95-36a2-43f9-a8ef-58afeaf0506b" credit-line="Photo by MAURO PIMENTEL / AFP" guid="d567d68c-44c4-41ad-963d-77a8a020e862" original-width="7880" original-height="5253" /][p]"No, Brazil can't fall for that because they'll always be one of the favourites," Pato continued.[/p][p]"It will be tough because football has changed a lot, but we also have some of the best players in the world. We have Vinicius Jr., Raphinha, and Casemiro; we have a lot of great players. We can reach the final, we can win, but it will be tough." [/p]
'He's the best in the world'
[p]Pato had high praise for Ancelotti, who joined the record World Cup winners in May 2025 after a fruitful spell with Real Madrid. Asked whether he thinks Ancelotti is the best manager in the world, Pato swiftly responded: "You know, if you think about it... yes![/p][p]"He's the best in the world, he's won everything, and I think the national team deserved someone like him, and he deserved such a big national team. Let's hope for the best." [/p][p]He also spoke about [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/team/ac-milan/8Sa8HInO/"]Milan[/a], a club he remains deeply attached to, expressing his disappointment at missing out on Champions League qualification and his trust in the management's choices for the future of the Rossoneri bench.[/p][p]"I follow Milan, it's always in my heart, I'm sorry they didn't make it to the Champions League... Now we have another year, and we can get back there," said Pato, who's unsure about who should be Massimiliano Allegri's successor at Milan.[/p][p]"That's up to the club, (technical director) Zlatan Ibrahimovic decides... I think Milan will know who to choose. Allegri was really strong, but now, for the next decision, I'm not sure. I always support Milan."[/p]
