August Holmgren failed to qualify for the main round of Wimbledon as he crashed out of the second round in the qualification tournament against No. 197 in the world, Jerome Kym from Switzerland, 6-4, 6-3.

[p][a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/holmgren-august/QTqxSQsj/"]August Holmgren[/a] won't be part of the main round of the Wimbledon tournament this year. [/p][p]The 28-year-old Dane lost in the second qualifying round to [a href="https://www.flashscore.ca/player/kym-jerome/0dNeJ8OB/"]Jerome Kym[/a] from Switzerland in two sets, 4-6, 3-6, after 1 hour and 24 minutes of play. [/p][p]Both players hit 12 aces, but Jerome Kym, who is ranked No 197 in the world, 50 spots below Holmgren, produced more winners and hit 24 to August Holmgren's 15 winners. [/p][p]This means that August Holmgren won't have the opportunity to repeat his brilliant Grand Slam performance from last summer, when he swept through Wimbledon's qualifying tournament and played his way to the third round of the main tournament.[/p]
